About

Thinking in systems.
Moving on intuition.

I work in the space before the product exists, where the problem is still messy, the technology is still uncertain, and the right answer isn't obvious yet. That's where I do my best work.

PHILOSOPHY

Design is not decoration. It's a decision about how people will experience something, and every decision has consequences beyond the screen.

I start by understanding the system: who's affected, where the problem comes from, what's connected to it that nobody mentioned yet. I observe before I ask, because real behavior tells you more than staged answers.

At the start of a project, I think without limits, no idea is too strange to say out loud. At the end, I'm ruthlessly logical. I catch the thinking errors that would cost you six months later. That range, from open exploration to precise systems thinking, is where I do my best work.

I'm critical of an industry that calls itself human-centered while fueling consumption it never questions. I want to design things that remove unnecessary friction from people's lives so they can focus on what actually matters to them.

EXPERIENCE

Automotive System UX · Mercedes-Benz

Within cross-functional automotive teams, I contributed to system-level UI concepts for in-car interfaces. My work focused on interaction flows, information hierarchy, and state modeling for safety-relevant systems.

I created high-fidelity prototypes in Figma and ProtoPie to support alignment across design, product, and engineering, enabling decision-ready validation of complex interface behavior.

Working in a safety-critical context meant that every interaction decision had consequences beyond the screen, a discipline that shaped how I approach complexity in any design context.

Industrial B2B Products · Paul Bauder

In an industrial B2B environment, I work on research, ideation, and prototyping for digital product initiatives. I translate technical requirements into structured UX concepts and interactive prototypes that support strategic product decisions.

The focus lies in clarity under complexity and decision support within constraint-driven systems.

side project

Is a bikepacking gear configurator I built and run independently. Answers 5 questions about route type, weather, and comfort level to generate a reasoned gear recommendation with weight and price comparison. Built in Next.js. Live product.
